Who we are

LearningJourney is developed within CEDCE — Colleges for European Datacenter Education — a partnership of European institutions, co-funded by the European Union. This policy explains what personal data we collect through the platform, why, and the rights you have over it.

What we collect

When you create an account we store your name, email address and a hashed password. When you build a profile, we store the education history, work experience, acquired competences and preferences (time, location, cost, modality) you choose to add, so the pathway engine can calculate routes for you.

Consent

We only store your profile and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) data after you give explicit consent, recorded with a timestamp at registration. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your profile in account settings.

Where your data lives

All data is stored on EU infrastructure and is never transferred outside the EU.

Counsellors acting on your behalf

If you are advised by a guidance counsellor, they may view or manage your profile on your behalf. Every time a counsellor accesses another user's profile, that access is logged in an audit trail with the counsellor's identity, the record viewed and a timestamp.

Your rights

• Request an export of all your data in JSON format at any time.
• Request deletion of your account — your profile is permanently deleted, and any references to you in the audit log are anonymised.
• Withdraw consent to profile and RPL data processing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, use the export/delete options in your account settings, or contact your institution's data protection contact.

Cookies and sessions

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. It is required for the platform to function and is not used for tracking or advertising.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where required, ask for renewed consent.
